Catholic Bishop of Rumbek reshuffles diocese priest assignments

The Catholic Bishop of Rumbek, Christian Carlassare on Monday Announced new assignments to the Diocesan clergy, Diocesan Departments and parishes.

Bishop Christian said this assignment came up after considering demands of the growth of the faith in the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek.

While reading the letter Father Andrea Osman Okello remained Vicar general and Parish Priest of Holy Family Cathedral, Father John Malou Beny Appointed assistant parish priest of Holy Family Cathedral and priest in charge of Pastoral department of the family ministry and counselling centre. He will also be in charge of Youth attending the orientation Course.

Father Benjamin Madol continues as parish priest of Saint Daniel Comboni Parish Marial Lou deputized by Father Angelo Deng John.

Father Peter Garang was appointed as Parish Priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus (Rumbek) and Priest in charge in the Pastoral department of the Youth office, Language and Culture. 

He will also continue as Principal of Bishop Mazzolari Memorial Secondary school.

Father Luka Dor will carry on as the rector of the Minor Seminary and Priest in charge of the Vocation, Seminarian and Pastoral department of the communication office.

Father Lino Pioth confirmed as Parish Priest of Saint Anselm parish and Father Arkangelo Manyiel Nyin as assistant parish priest.

Father Stephen Mangar was appointed as parish priest of Saint Mary Help of Christian and the principal of Saint Daniel Comboni Primary school.

Father Joseph Mou confirmed in Thiet Sub-Parish and in charge to prepare Thiet to be instituted as a parish.

Father James Khamic is assigned to be priest in charge of Romic Parish, and Acolyte Peter Abodo is assigned to Holy Family Parish for Pastoral services.

Bishop Christian Confirmed to priests that the assignment is effective immediately and people concern will facilitate the handing over of the Parish Materials to the new priest.

Bishop Carlassare thanked the priests for their generosity and strengths for the hope of Faith in the diocese.
