Juba City Council has revealed a new Garbage collection company known as “City Light Service,” signed a temporary agreement with City Mayor, Michael Ladu Allah-Jabu on Monday.
The Juba City Council Mayor signed a new temporary contract with a company known as the City Light Service to collect garbage in the city.
Mayor, Michael Ladu says the temporary contract with the firm will maintain the city’s hygiene after the closure of “Go Green.”
“The city authorities are working day and night to consolidate the issue of garbage but fortunately the capacities of the equipment are very small,” Allah-Jabu stated.
The mayor emphasized the door-to-door collection of household garbage fees will kick off soon to enable effective cleanliness in residential areas in Juba.
Ladu stated that cleanliness should not only be left to the city council or the government but it’s a responsibility of every citizen.
Director of City Light Service Company, Jalal Abdallah Doka said the project will work hard to collect garbage at the residential, workplaces, and the streets.
“Residents, the market, and the streets are all filled with garbage. People must abide by the rules because the government has designated locations for the trucks to pick up the garbage,” he emphasized.
In February this year, Go Green East, the only Garbage collection company in Juba was dragged to court by Simon trading company after failing to pay a whopping sum of 2.6 million dollars to Simon Trading Company Limited.
