The Catholic Bishop of Yei, Alex Lodiong Sakor Diocese is encouraging believers at St Joseph Parish in Juba to go and announce the good news of Jesus Christ.

The Bishop of Yei believes that Jesus has given every Christian the responsibility and command to preach his good news.

He tells the faithful who participated in the ecumenical visit of Pope Francis to be agents of peace.

Bishop Alex advises believers to denounce violence and injustice as they are not Christian values.

“Go out and proclaim the good news , this is to every Christian not only to Priests or Sisters but everybody who believes Jesus gives you this command and this mandate go and proclaim and whether you going to get it simple or not, proclaim. And that sometimes end up in death,” he said.

“And so today, we as the people of the Diocese of Yei and our sister Dioceses in Congo are going back with this mandate from the Holy Father go and be agent of peace, go and denounce Violence, go and denounce injustices. Nobody should keep quiet.”

The religious leader requests the congregants to work for peace and togetherness as one people.

He praises God for the papal visit to experience the enthusiasm of the South Sudanese manifesting to the Holy Father that they want to live in peace.

Bishop Lodiong tells those against peace in the country to see what it means to live in peace and take the message that citizens need peace.

“We have to say no to violence and yes to peace and we work together as one people. Those who are against peace, should have seen what it means to live in peace as one people and they should take this message by the fact of this gathering of people together and celebrating together, they should be able to know that this people need peace and not division and not violence,” Bishop said.

A parish Priest at St Joseph of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba has called on the congregation to meditate on the words of his Holy Pope Francis during his ecumenical pilgrimage of peace in South Sudan.

Father Prudesco Sule told Christians to take note of the Pope’s key words for peace unity and reconciliation.

He believes citizens in refugee camps could have the chance to return home if leaders make peace a reality

The Catholic priest adds that working together will enable Christians to carry the mission of Christ in proclaiming his word to the people.

The catholic Bishop was giving his homily on Monday to the congregation of St Joseph Parish of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba.
