The Governor of Western Equatoria State has issued a ban on secret meetings without authorisation from National security.
Hon. Alfred Futoyo Karaba has accused some politicians of conducting forums that create insecurity at the state.
Last week, political tension was reported in Western Equatoria after members from other parties wrote a letter suspending their participation in the government headed by the governor who is an SPLM IO nominee.
Futuyo says, illegal meetings held by some politicians across the state are misleading and confusing citizens in residential areas,
“I banning illegal meetings being held by the politicians in the residential areas without permission from the National Security Service (NSS) office and shall come into force upon the date of its signature,” he said.
The Governor is also threatening to arrest any politician violating the order. He also directed the security organs to enforced patrolling in town day and night.
This came after some politicians in Western Equatoria accused the Governor of abandoning Council of States sittings, parliaments, not paying MPs and deducting the salaries of civil-Servants. A claim the state governor denied.
