Whitaker peace and development initiative on Tuesday started a three-day conflict resolution training to teachers in Yei River County.
The training brought sixty participants from the five payams of the county in Central Equatoria state.
Speaking during the opening of the course, Bush Buse programme coordinator for Whitaker Peace and Development initiative says the training is meant at empowering teachers with knowledge on teaching conflict resolution mechanism in the communities.
He believes that teachers are the most important segments that can train the youths and children to be peaceful.
The programme coordinator reveals that training teachers is very paramount in order for them to teach peace education in the schools.
Meanwhile inspector general from the national ministry of education Ochan Lino Victor stresses that teachers are the pillars of the nation.
He points out those teachers play great roles in prevention of violence in a country.
