Bishop-elect of Yei Catholic Diocese calls on philosophy and Theology seminarians to prepare themselves to be good shepherds in their journey to priesthood.

Monsignor Alex Lodiong Sakor states that major seminarians should prepare from now so that their sheep know them and they know their sheep because a good shepherd must be part of the sheep.

Monsignor Lodiong explains that seminarians should always listen to their sheep and have good relationship with them so that their sheep follow them.

“In the Gospel it says the sheep follow me, they have listen, I know them because I have good relationship with them and therefore they follow me, if you don’t that the sheep will not follow, if you don’t have good relationship with your people they will not follow you. If they follow you they will follow just because of fear because you may case fear on them”, he explains.

The Bishop-elect urges major Seminarians to be in a good relationship as shepherds because internal life starts from the earth not in heaven.

He encourages seminarians to stand strong has God called them to follow him because the church need priests.

The bishop-elect made his remarks on Sunday at St. Paul National Major Seminary in Juba marking his last mass as priest before his ordination and installation as Bishop of Yei Diocese on 15 of May 2022.
