UN agencies will on Friday, April 29, 2022 launch a community action project in Wau, Western Bah el Ghazal State to enhance peaceful resolution of housing, land and property disputes and conflicts.
The agencies include the International Organization for Migration or IOM, the Food and Agriculture Organization or FAO and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS.
The launch will be the first project wide activity that convenes stakeholders on peace building regarding issues of housing, land, and property in Wau, Juba and Rubkona as pilot counties.
The project will build on an initial assessment conducted by IOM in February 2022 and form part of the inception phase of the project.
The project is to foster national ownership and buy-in of catalytic peace building efforts in South Sudan at all levels.
