The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, on Monday briefed President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the state’s readiness to welcome Pope Francis in July.
He also updated the president on implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement at the state level.
He further informed President Kiir about the general security situation in the whole of central Equatoria state.
The Central Equatoria State leader called upon the Christians and general public to be in the spirit of peace as they prepare for the visit of Pope Francis to Juba in July.
Governor Adil Anthony also briefed President Salva Kiir Mayardit on his recent visit to Ituri Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo where they discussed issues of cross- border security and cooperation for the people of two the countries to enjoy peace and security at the borders.
During the meeting, President Salva Kiir Mayardit called for calm between the cattle herders in the Equatoria region.
He directed the state government to escort the roaming cattle to where they came from to avoid clashes between the cattle herders and farmers.
President Kiir on the reunification command structure of all security organs, urged people to restrain from misinformation ongoing in various social media platforms.
He reaffirms party’s commitment to implement the protocol on security arrangements in letter and spirit.
