Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Yei, Rite Reverend Levi Marandulu Yepete accompanied by retired Bishop Hillary Luate Adeba on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the governor of Central Equatoria State in Juba.

Their meeting was to basically discuss on the role of the religious leaders in consolidating government’s efforts on sustainable peace and development, Radio Easter reported.

Emeritus Bishop Luate after the meeting told the press that the church in Yei has a cordial working relationship with the state government and deeply share the same ideology.

Governor Emmanuel Adil lauded religious leaders for their continued efforts in the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He encouraged the bishops to speak consistently and openly with the holdout groups in condemnation of their negative activities against the local population which are slowing down the State’s progress.
