A team of Members of Parliament from the national Legislature, Council of States led by Deputy Chairperson for Security and Defence Committee, Daniel Deng Lual, on Tuesday met governor of central Equatoria state Emmanuel Adil Anthony and discussed emerging cattle issues.
The discussion focused on the emerging continuous issues surrounding the influx of cattle herders into the Equatoria region and its subsequent effects between the cattle keepers and farming communities.
Deputy Chairperson Deng applauded Governor Emmanuel for his progressive activities across the state since he assumed his duties.
He also reiterated the Legislature commitment to work collaboratively with the state leadership to address some persistent issues especially by the cattle herders facing their respective constituencies.
Meanwhile Governor Adil welcomed the visit of the parliamentarians amid critical issues confronting the states as ranging from cattle herders and land grabbers.
He also expresses his government’s readiness to work closely with the Legislature leadership in devising on amicable solution to the existing cattle herder’s crises in the country.
He also underscored on the oversight role of the legislature in supporting efforts towards effective service delivery to the local population.
