Eastern Equatoria MPs urge cattle herders to return to their places of origin

Members of Parliament representing Eastern Equatoria in the national Assembly have called for immediate relocation of Jonglei cattle currently in Eastern Equatoria to their state of origin.

Eastern Equatoria State Parliament Caucus Chairperson, Julius Moilinga, appeals to authorities of Jonglei State to help relocate their cattle from Eastern Equatoria to avoid further destruction, Bakhita Radio reported.

An MP representing one of Magwi County Constituencies, Okello Odongtoo describes the presence of community from Jonglei State in Eastern Equatoria as an invasion.

Last week, the government says efforts are underway to ensure cattle herders in Magwi County return to their state despite flooding and insecurity. Earlier, Eastern Equatoria State governor called on the national government to deploy the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces to contain the ongoing insecurity in the area.
