Ministry of Lands reviews development of national land policy

The Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development in collaboration with UN Food and Agriculture Organization or FAO and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD organized a workshop on the land policy review process.

Undersecretary in the Ministry, Louis Kwot Akolith says the course is a development of a road map for re-examine land policy in South Sudan, Bakhita Radio reported.

FAO country representative, Meshack Malo, appeals to the government to support the land policy review to enhance the productivity.

The national Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Michael Chiengjiek, explains that the policy is being developed for use in the next generation.

He pointed out that people are unable to differentiate between the land policy and politics.

The workshop brought together the different stakeholders from the land sector, land use institutions and non-governmental actors.
