Catholic University offers scholarships to Juba Archdiocese and Central Equatoria State.

The catholic university of South Sudan has announced up to six scholarships to archdiocese of Juba and central Equatoria state for hosting the university.

The chancellor of the university, His Lordship Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala says, three scholarships will be given to priests in the archdiocese of Juba, one to any lay person in the church and two more for central Equatoria state.

“We are giving symbolically three scholarships for hosting our university, three priests and the one lay person may be a catechist, or youth leader or any other person to make four. Another scholarship category will take only two; one lady and one gentleman from central Equatoria state.”

He revealed that, Catholic university was an offer to the nation since independence and was derived from the vision of the bishops, mandatory to transform the community through education.

“The catholic church stands on this value that we are the people created in the image of God, with power to transform ourselves and our communities to drive the change and change can only be done by an organized programme within a given community and that’s what we do at the catholic university.”

His Lordship Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala and his administration awarded several personalities with accolades for their tireless and constant support to catholic university.

The personalities listed for awards and recognition include; the president of the Republic of South Sudan, President Salva Kiir for maintaining peace, Hon Bangasi Bakosoro, the national minister of labour and public service, HE. Emmanuel Adil the Governor of Central Equatoria state in his absence, represented by his deputy, Sahara Nene, Arch Bishop Stephen Ameyu Mula and among others  And within the catholic university the vice chancellor and the deputy vice chancellor were recognised and awarded as well
