Central Equatoria state Governor reconstitutes county legislative councils

The Governor of Central Equatoria state Emmanuel Adil Anthony has on

Wednesday reconstituted the six counties legislative councils.

In State gubernatorial decree extended to radio Easter governor Adil appointed members to the reconstituted county legislative councils for the six counties of central equatoria sate.

The appointment is in line with the full implementation of Chapter one of September 2018 revitalized agreement on resolution of conflict in South Sudan or R-ARCSS.

Article 1.16.2, stipulate that state and local government shall be reconstituted in accordance with the responsibility sharing formula as state in article 1.16.1 R-ARCSS between incumbent government 55%, SPLMIO 27%, SSOA 10% and OPP 08% on the positions of Governor, speakers of the state legislature, State councils, State legislature, County Commissioners and County councils.

Governor Emmanuel Adil appointed fourteen members from SPLMIG, Nine members from SPLMIO and Four Member of SSOA respectively in all the six Counties of Central Equatoria State.

The gubernatorial decree for the appointment of reconstituted counties legislative councils has come to effect as of Wednesday, 23th.

Many attempts were made to the governor’s office to clarify appointment for other political parties or OPP County legislative council members but were not successful.
