The expected Juba-Lainya-Kaya road commenced with bush clearance in Lainya County of Central Equatoria State on Thursday.
SSPDF Engineering corps and Universal Engineering Company, a sub-contracted company started the bush clearance conducted.
Commissioner of Lainya, Emmanuel Khamis Richard Luka, told Radio Easter after the launch that the road work is strategic for the people of Lainya, greater Yei, Central Equatoria and South Sudan at large.
He appeals for support from the people of greater Yei to ensure that the construction goes without hindrance.
Khamis urges the people of greater Yei and Lainya in particular to work for peace and disassociate themselves from rebels.
