Radio Emmanuel welcomes new director and bids farewell to outgoing

Radio Emmanuel 89 FM Station of the Catholic Diocese of Torit on Monday 7th February 2022 welcomed a new director, Fr. John Opii Severino.

Outgoing director Fr. Santino Lounoi Stephen during the handing over, acknowledges Apostolic Administrator of Torit, Archbishop Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla, for the past years of taking care of the radio station during his time, Radio Emmanuel reported.

The outgoing director welcomed the new director and appreciates the radio staff for the hard work and cooperation rendered during his time.

“What I can say is I am happy to hand over to the new incoming director, I wish him well, in the station and also I give thanks to the Archbishop for having given me the opportunity to serve up to this time, and I also want to thank the staff for the time that I have been with them, they have been hard working and very cooperative, I can say that the challenges were many, but we were able to convertibly work through those challenges and solved them in a very amicable manner”, Fr Lounoi expresses joyfully.

New director Fr. John Opii Severino thanks the outgoing director for laying a good foundation that will pave his way in following footsteps in the management of the Information department in the Catholic Diocese of Torit.

He calls for cooperation from Radio Emmanuel’s staff for a better working environment.

“In the first place I thank H.G Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla for giving me this task in this particular moment, I also thank the outgoing director of Radio Emmanuel Rev. Fr. Santino Lounoi for having led the radio for all this time. I will be building on the foundation laid by Fr. Santino, while I will also establish a new garden after I exit or others to water, I will expect collaboration from the staff of the radio, diocesan management, collaboration with all our listeners as we will try our Radio Emmanuel to be as best as we could as time goes on.

Vicar General Fr. John Sebit Marcello encourages the incoming director to bear and solve challenges arising later at the communication wing of the diocese.

He calls on the new station director to cooperate with staff for the success of the radio.

Thank you Fr. Santino for what you have done here during your time, despite all challenges, you were able to do something good and make the radio on well, that is always an assignment given for us here, Fr. Opii be faithful, although there are challenges coming across to this radio or in our work, if you will be thinking every day it will discourage you those are things we cannot avoid, just try what you can do, just do what you and what you cannot do jump to another one, as you have also experienced here, collaboration with people here, you will carry radio forward”, the Vicar said.

The Catholic prelates made their statements when Fr. Santino Lounoi, outgoing director, handed Radio Emmanuel office to the new director Fr. John Opii Severino on Monday in Torit.

Fr. Lounoi was the first Radio Emmanuel director since its establishment in June 2009 at the time of late Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek in the Catholic Diocese of Torit.
