Candidates of secondary schools on Monday started mock exams in Yei River County of Central Equatorial State
The exams is meant to test the capability of students, Juan Margret Lomora, Yei River County Secondary Schools Inspector, told Radio Easter at St Joseph Secondary School of the Catholic Diocese of Yei.
She adds the exams will help find out teachers and students weaknesses in order to provide a way forward to improve for performance for the upcoming final exams.
Juan disclosed that four hundred sixty-five candidates are sitting for the mock exams.
Abiinzer Richard Wenger, chief invigilator at centre B, explains that the mock exams are meant to prepare the candidates for the final exams.
He says joint mock exams help students to exercise their strength and weakness in order for teachers to correct the weaknesses after the mock exams.
Out of four hundred sixty-five candidates attending the mock exams, two hundred ninety-six are boys and one hundred sixty-nine girls, explains Lasuba James Francis, Chairperson of Yei Secondary Schools Joint Mock Exams.
He adds that out of the four hundred sixty-five students sitting for the mock, two hundred eighteen are science section students and two hundred forty-seven are arts.
The mock exams which started with English language on Monday are expected to conclude with Mathematics on Thursday this week.
