Over 20 households flee to Agoro after suspected herders torched properties

Twenty-five households are reported to have fled from their settlement area to Agoro Comboro of Magwi County after suspected cattle herders burnt their properties.

Agoro Boma Chief Okot Sonic Romeo explains that ten households arrived in Comboro on Sunday while the other fifteen arrived on Monday and more are expected to migrate, Radio Emmanuel reported.

According to him, the suspected cattle’s herders were chasing people with the intention of capturing them, but failed to succeed with their intention.

“They chase people with intention of capturing them but these people ran and they were defeated then they later started their operation there in Dabur they damage everything and burn they did these things and went back until 4 pm they started robbing some of those coming from Juba of their telephones and money .all those in the area flee others are still now in the bush and I received others with me here where those with me here were ten households yesterday and today I received fifteen totally to twenty five and more expected to come”, the chief explains.

Over the weekend, Magwi County authorities warned of looming conflict between farmers and cattle keepers due to an influx of cattle coming back to settle in Magwi from Nyolo side, Kerepi up to Achwa.
