The chief of Morwari Quarter Council B in Torit of Eastern Equatoria State is encouraging parents to send their children to school.

Radio Emmanuel quoted Michael Obusuk during the graduation of Christ Bright Academy Nursery School Top Class, saying when children are sent to school they will contribute positively to the betterment of the nation.

He cautions parents against discriminating children in the family.

“I wanted to encourage the parents to let us send our children to school, whatever you have at home, let the child go to school. Tomorrow and next tomorrow when he finishes you will see how he feed your family, mothers and fathers if it is your sister’s child and he is staying with you, don’t tell him to take care of children at home or cook for children at home, please let children go to the school, because what you see from this current situation and in your future if you are not educated and you don’t have certificate, there will be no work for you, our country South Sudan is not yet stable, but if you are going from other countries like Uganda and Kenya, people are having degrees, but they are pushing wheelbarrows”, he elaborates.

While UNMISS, Rwanda Battalion One Captain Dr Antoine Nyonsenga says sending children to school is a sign of a bright future for the country.

He advises parents to keep children healthier and free from disease because disease can disrupt the wellbeing of the child.

“This graduation day for these children are a sign that this country has got a bright future, these children would have not graduated if they were sick. One of the thing that can prevent from graduating today include disease when they are sick they are not study that is why I’m about health, so one of the disease that are preventing our children from progressing include malaria disease from poor hygiene and I cannot forget about Covid-19”, says Nyonsenga.

Meanwhile, Director of Christ Bright Academy, Grace Achan, says their priority is to build a concrete foundation for younger children.

She says when giving strong foundation to young children, they will probably reach university at some point because education starts at nursery level.

“We are building a concrete foundation for these younger children and we are bridging the gap between the nursery and P 1, we are giving them the knowledge so that they will be knowledgeable and this section is called early childhood education, why childhood? It is a process by which children grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially that is why you are seeing these children are having emotions and they are also socialising with others, by giving them stronger foundation these children they will reach university without knowing because they are still young, that is why we say we should begin education from nursery at the year of six”, pledges Achan.

This is the 13th graduation ceremony of Nursery Top Class at Christ Bright Academy Nursery and Primary School since its establishment in Torit.

The speakers made the remarks on Friday during the graduation of Christ Bright Academy Nursery school Top Class.
