The head chief of Imurok Payam of Torit County on behalf of the community appeals to the government and the health partners to upgrade their health facilities.

Chief Omida Jackson said the whole Imurok Payam only has a Primary Health Care Unit, Radio Emmanuel reported.

According to him, there is a need to upgrade the Unit into Primary Health Care Centre to serve more people.

“The community is ready they planned to lay bricks for the issue of the health facility to collect aggregate, stones and even timber, they want at least a PHCC to be built there in Imurok Centre because since then the people of Imurok are suffering only the PHCU is helping them”, the chief complained.

Jackson disclosed the community started the plan of laying bricks, collecting aggregate, stones and provide timbers so that a PHCC is constructed.

“We have started the issue of the bricks this month only mouldboard was not there but we have already got it and we will begin it this month”, he noted.

The head chief lamented to Radio Emmanuel on Wednesday through telephone interview that there is no transport means in all health facilities in the Payam to help in case of serious condition.
