Commissioner assures Yei citizens of ongoing Juba-Yei-Kaya road building

Yei River County Commissioner, Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa, assured citizens of greater Yei that Juba-Yei-Kaya road undergoing construction.

He mentioned that implementing partner American Refugee Council or ARC project coordinator guaranteed them on their engagement with the national and state government in Juba, Radio Easter reported.

He urges citizens to cooperate with the government and the construction company to allow passage for the road.

Cyrus calls for population will to accept investment in the localities to open employment opportunities.

“Grateful that we met the management of ARC especially the project coordinator who has told us that the process for the road construction already there are engagement being conducted by the state government and we are going to hold county to county meeting”, he discloses.

Commissioner Cyrus adds that “o the citizen’s responsibility is now to open up to welcome this initiative to be ready that we will be willing to allow our resources to be use for the construction of the road and to allow the passage for the road if it goes through your area, through your home I would request that let us willingly accept it”.

“We have an opportunity that it is going to be tarmac it is within our time that we are seeing our grandparents have not witnessed the tarmacking”. he notes.

Commissioner Cyrus emphasizes on the value of the road to citizens.

He calls on leaders to provide service to the citizens than for self-benefit.

“This road is not going to benefit us as the living generation today but it is going to benefit our children, our generations that are going to come ahead of us. So what we will be doing should not be for ourselves, but we will look forward to do what will benefit the future of this country, of Central Equatoria, of Yei River County and the future of the people of Central Equatoria State, the Commissioner emphasizes.

“There are going to be allot of investment if this road is open we also should be willing to accept any investment that will come. Sooner or later a lot will come. Within this month next month, we will see a lot of opportunities coming. These opportunities are going to open up scholarships to the young men especially those going to the universities. Opportunities for employment are coming whether it extraction of marram, crashing of stones, agriculture project and whether it is any other project let us get prepared”, he further explains.

Morobo County Commissioner, Joseph Mawa John, stresses on the cooperation among citizens in greater Yei and particularly in Morobo County to avail resources for the road construction and open up room for investment.

He calls on the leaders of greater Yei, Central Equatoria State and the national governments to work for the development of the country.

“It needs our collective effort as the sons and daughters of Morobo to work together because we have the resources like marram. So it need togetherness and secondly am advising the people of Morobo to cooperate with the construction company whether the road is passing by your home or tick plantation because road network is a development itself by bringing close whatever you wanted. So this is a very important initiative taken by the national government as well as the state and we appreciate the initiative. We hope there will be investment coming to Morobo County in particular and greater Yei area at large, says Mawa.

It needs all of us to work together to bring development to our counties so that the generations will enjoy the benefit of this country it is our role as the leaders of the current moment”, he adds.

The head of counties spoke to radio Easter in Yei this afternoon upon arrival from Juba on a national call.

The Juba-Yei-Kaya road construction is a national government initiative to enable the movement of goods and service and to put infrastructure in place and to improve the standards of living of citizens.
