Torit Urban Water Supply in Eastern Equatoria State on Friday held a meeting with its water beneficiaries to discuss 2022 plans.
Radio Emmanuel quoted Torit Urban Water Supply Managing Director, Oito Baptist, saying the meeting was to discuss challenges being faced in order to be rectified in 2022.
“Today we are able to have the meeting, we invited all our esteemed customers who for one reason or the other buy Torit Water products and services that we need to inform them because they are our kings. We brought them and enlightened them on water tariffs for the year 2022 since we are nearing to. When we start the meeting we first of all looked at evaluations, we are evaluating the last year’s especially 2021 all activities had to be evaluated, we looked at the challenges and we looked at the achievements both the customers and the management of water utility company”, he explains.
Baptist says customers raised concerns of limited water supply, delay of water production, limited coverage and some individual personalities.
“Some of the challenges they faced was the limited water supply, they also talk about delay of water production and supplies, they also talk about the coverage that the Torit Urban Water is not cover the town and they also talk some personalities are arrogance, so we look at some of those and we say yes the company can move from that direction”, he admits.
Baptist is optimistic that his company is working hard to resolve all problems facing customers of Torit Urban Water Supply.
“We are looking into solving almost all challenges, issues to do with coverage right now we have project at hand that is going to expand water supply all over the town in the form of kiosks construction and all population will be getting water, we also have a mode of supply using the trucks, the trucks can supply areas which the network is not reaching because we are going to cover a lot of almost the whole town by three modes one of the modes is truck supplies of water, we have kiosks and we have also domestic which are going to be connected into their houses”, the director says.
