The crime officer in Torit Traffic Police office is warning drivers and motorcyclists against over speeding along the road which may cause accidents.

Satiro notes that most reported cases of accidents are due to over speeding.

“Because we are entering the festive season, we need to be careful enough to avoid many accidents” he stated.

“These days there are a lot of accidents because of overspending, the accidents that are common nowadays all just because of over speeding, especially drivers and motorcyclists, let them take care because the road is now fine. Because we are entering the festive season, we need to be careful enough so that the accidents should not be much; we want this year to go in peace so that we join new year without accidents like other years”, he adds.

Satiro encourages road users to look right and left while crossing and follow the traffic signs.

He appeals to both the drivers and riders to slow down when passing near school, churches and other busy places to minimise accidents.

“Always if you want to cross the road, you need to look right and left if there’s a car or motorbike then you cross the road. Don’t only look at one side to avoid accident, if you are moving by foot take care, either your riding bicycle or motorbike do the same, you need to know regulations of the road, when you come to the market where there a lot of people you need to move slowly for example when you reach school, mosque and other you need to make sure that you go unhurriedly don’t go with speed for you to avoid accidents”.

The speaker made the remarks to Radio Emmanuel in an exclusive interview in Torit.
