Police Authorities in Eastern Equatoria State have stated dispatching organised forces across the area, to ensure safety and protection of the community ahead of the festive season.
Lieutenant Colonel Mathew Ochan is the Director for Public Relations, Moral and Orientation in Eastern Equatoria State, South Sudan Police Service.
He says it is the police directives to provide security in the state.
“You know very well that it is the routine work of the police, everyday, yearly, and monthly, police prepares to control the security from Christmas season to the first of the coming year, we are now ready and prepared even from this organised forces to protect the community, we have foot and car patrolling in all areas or corners of Eastern Equatoria State, general even in the counties we have it, we will all over around that time until the end of the day then we can leave the station place for the security”.
Ochan cites robbery, stealing and fighting as forms of crimes that usually happen during festive seasons.
He promises tight security against all forms of crimes in the community.
“We know very well that a crime that can happen within the community this time is robbery, stealing property and fighting when people are drunk, this is what we expect to happen, the condition known by everybody, mobility is a problem in them unite as a police officers, but we will rescue the situation at any time with any available car we got on the way we stop and rescue the situation where something occur”.
The Director of Public Relations encourages the community to report any criminal activity to the concerned authorities.
“My massage to the community of Eastern Equatoria state is that, anybody having the number of any police officer even mine in the hand of the sub-chief within Torit municipal and some of the county, in case of anything, requests the number from sub-chief, chief and authority concern in the area if there is any case for us to respond to, in order for us the police to rescue the situation”.
The police authority made the statement to Radio Emmanuel at the Police Central Division premises.
