The leader for Persons Living with Disabilities says they are not given equal opportunities when it comes to employment at both government and NGOs.

Noel Pr. William British encourages NGOs to have equal consideration, Radio Emmanuel reports.

“Even to NGOs they will say we need able person not person living with disability to apply most of them have little job opportunity. Now since you have finished your studies getting job have become a problem as if he has not gone to school, even at the parliament they have not been represented either male or female”.

He appreciates some organizations for supporting people living with disabilities.

Another person with disability, Mary Ihide, says she faced numerous challenges while finding a partner.

She testifies that she was left alone in the family because she could not contribute in the house to support the children.

“The told me he is tired because you can’t help me in the family to feed this children, even when we are in the hospital we are just looked at as if we are not people who need special care we will just spend most of our time for long sometimes not being attended to what am saying is we need our future of the people living with disability to be bright we need to be considered as people like other without disability in marriage we can also give to healthy children just like those other able people//

In a related news story, Widow Konsoleta Kiden says she is so vulnerable to hunger because no one supports her.

“Most things that is affecting people living with disability is food, it is difficult to get food to feed your children especially for the widow like me you can’t walk you can’t see even we need the government to consider these people living with disability as people who need support with food at least every two months 50 kg bag can help a lot so that it will help us those with children”.

The speakers made the remarks to Radio Emmanuel in an exclusive interview.
