The Archbishop of Juba Archdiocese says power without religious aspect is always useless.
Stephen Ameyu Martin notes that because of no religious aspect, leaders are being drawn by materialism.
“Power without the religious aspect, it is always useless, it leads us out of all the senses of society. And that is what happened, with the spirit of circularizm that we today witness in Europe, in America and other so called modernized countries. Christ is no more the King of life of the people; they have taken another King of a King of materialism”.
The Catholic Bishop encourages Christians not to offend one another and be united.
“Christ prayed for the unity of Christians. Therefore, we must not offend ourselves because we belong to Christ and Christ would like us at the end. I think, those who always play the disunity part are people who belong to Satan. The devil always would like to divide people into different churches”.
Ameyu asks religious leaders to sacrifice themselves to fulfil the mission of spreading the gospel of God.
“Today we challenge ourselves as priests whether we are ready to sacrifice a bit of our leisure time for the gospel, we can help our people transform when we are committed to our mission. It is not the people but us because we have accepted the gospel voluntarily. Therefore all of us must not see that mission as a mission of the bishop or the mission of a parish priest if you are an assistant parish priest or a mission of the people of God. It is a mission given to you by Christ by God”.
He made the remarks during the Centenary celebration at Magwi Christ the King Parish, in Eastern Equatoria State.
