“Be attentive as organized criminals group continue to engage in to perpetrate scam that targets economy of the country”, David John, National Security Service Spokesperson encourage citizens.
He expressed that the National Security Services is committed to work with the public agencies to continue identifying criminals and dismantle their networks.
John says they are tracking all networks of the criminals to make sure that nobody attempts with the economy of South Sudan.
He adds that the operation divisions, surveillance division are working hard day and night.
This statement comes after the national security services apprehended 14 criminals, comprising of 10 South Sudanese nationals, 2 foreigners from Guinea Bissau, and Liberia, with fake dollars amounting to 93 million and 400,000 South Sudanese Pounds.
The stolen items include 3 Rickshaws, 1 Noah 2 primer 1 van card car and more than 6 motorbikes respectively.
One of the criminals who claims to be the chairman of Liberian community in Juba, Beta Nyeka, told journalists that he made deals with some South Sudanese.
He adds that he excepted because he also needs money.
Nyeka explains that he was first arrested with the same deal in 2014 and was released and this is the second time to be arrested in South Sudan.
He claimed that he always moves alone and he has no any group of the dealers.
Nyeka explains that those are not real money they are just papers and once they print they take it to market to sell and get money for them.
According the criminals’ plan, they were supposed to inject the money to the market and get for them the real dollars.
The speakers spoke to journalists on Thursday during the press statement at national security service office in Juba.
