Thieves’ breaks Eastern Equatoria Secretariat office, police confirms

The police spokesperson n Eastern Equatoria State have confirmed that about four AK 47 guns are missing after unknown people broke into the State Secretariat Office on Sunday night.

Major Justine Kleopas Takuru describes that about six suspected people said to have broken into the compound and threatened the security on duty.

He says the criminals are said to have injected the security guard during the incident and left him unconscious.

The spokesperson says he is rushed and now receiving medication at Torit State Hospital.

“On 30 October 1 AM morning, I was call that a police was beaten at state secretariat office, when he shot a gun, the patrol team went, they got the security was tied down, they ask him, security says six people came and told him to open the door that they want to take a car they are going for a journey because there are cars left in the secretariat, so when he opened, he was put at gunpoint beaten, tied and open the store and take three guns plus four weapons of the security, he says he was injected a medicine that made him sleep, the first four people went to freedom square and shot a gun for the two to start going, so they go left him tied, he was taken to hospital, but the condition is now fine”.

Major Kleopas says similar incidents of theft also occurred in some government offices in Torit but the investigations are still ongoing.

“We reported the case to the factory where this guns were brought even the security who was tied beaten is also under investigation, even it happens at Local government on a door was open and window was broken, we also reported the case to find where the key is because the security is them although he was sick but the watchman is there and he says he was a slept, even at SPLM state secretariat some people enter from down of the fence, we also get a watch man there, we enter the office we got a drawer was pulled down , I think people doing this are those who knew there is something there because two offices were open”, he narrates.

The police spokesperson discloses that they have deployed enough forces in the offices to safeguard the environment, warning people to refrain from bad acts that tarnish their image.

“I am talking to this people doing this, that if we get you we, this will spoil your name because you did something bad, because you cannot enter government offices to loot Guns, break windows and drawers to take money, it is not good, right now I all this office like secretariat, Local government we have added security once you are shot that will be your responsibility, so citizens should not fear that is in the office of the government we have added forces”, he explains.

The police spokesperson made the statement in an exclusive interview in his office on Tuesday.
