At least five people have died in a cargo plane crash at Gondokoro on Tuesday morning.
According to a cargo manifest that circulated online, the Antinove cargo plane belonging to Euro Airline was carrying 28 drums of diesel to Maban in Upper Nile State.
The plane crashed shortly after takeoff at the Juba International Airport at around 11 AM according to eyewitnesses.
They said the plane killed an unknown number of goats, destroyed farm land and a house.
Bakhita Radio`s reporter who visited the scene of the crash saw five dead bodies collected from the debris of the plane who were burnt beyond recognition.
On his part, the Commissioner of Juba County regrets the incident and appeals to airline companies to service their planes to avoid such incidents.
Meanwhile the mayor of Juba City Council Kalisto Lodu blames the crash on very old model airplanes that are no longer allowed in the airspace of other countries.
Investigation reports into several plane crashes that has happened in the country have not been made public.
In March this year, a commercial plane belonging to the South Supreme Airline crashed in Pieri area of Uror County in Jonglei State killing ten people.
In August last year, a commercial plane crashed in Komiru area of Juba, killing seven people shortly after takeoff from Juba International Airport.
Also, in September 2018, a chartered Let-410 UVP crashed into Lake Shambe in Yirol, Lakes state killing at least 20 people, including an Anglican Bishop.
