The Director of Road Traffic confirms that the Boda-Boda riders are on strike in Yei River County of Central Equatoria State.
Speaking to Radio Easter, Colonel Ruben Manyok says the boda-boda riders are on strike because the local government through road traffic department is over charging them.
The director claims that his department intervened immediately by conducting a meeting and reached agreement with the Boda-Boda riders.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Yei Boda-Boda Association, Emmanuel Duku Samuel, reiterates that the traffic department overcharges number plates.
He adds that the fine levied on them during the recent traffic crackdown was also high.
Duku assures customers that the boda-boda association has reached an agreement with the county government and the traffic department in Yei.
