World Food Program or WFP on Tuesday distributed food items to 20,000 people to flood affected residential areas in Tonj South County of Warrap State.
Rebecca Nyandeng, one of the beneficiaries through Don Bosco Radio thanked WFP for distributing food to them including sorghum, salt, oil, and beans.
Nyandeng appeals to the UN to provide non food items to the same people who seriously by flood and extend the same to other affected people.
“We started since on Sunday and up to now we are still receiving; I thank the organization called WFP for what they have done, and I would like to ask if they can still bring some of the things that we are missing like blanket, tents, and things that we can us to bath in.”
Another beneficiary explains that ten people get twelve sacks of flour in addition to the one given inside the fence.
“The organization have helped us a lot, I don’t know how many months which we have taken without receiving any food assistance, we are receiving a sack of durra, Soult and many others”
They speakers made these remarks to Don Bosco Radio during food distribution on Tuesday in Tonj.
