Community Radio Network South Sudan or COMNeTSS with support from UNDP and NPA on Monday announced three nominees for 2021 peace journalism Awards.
The three nominees are Lasuba Memo, Eye Radio Journalist in Juba, Keji Jennifer, a freelance Journalist in Juba and Alex Daniel Digi also a freelance Journalist from Western Equatoria State.
COMNeTSS executive director Josephine Achiro during the peace building conference revealed that the awards are to motivate Journalists who put more efforts reporting on peace building issues.
Achiro states that, the little support they are giving to the winners is for them to make a realization of the content which will benefit the whole South Sudan.
“What I’m telling you here that the little support you are going to get in this wards, it is not for you to go and book a room from Palm Africa or Crown Hotel, but it is for you to make a realization of the content you want to see, the best article that you want to publish, the best program you want to do in your community radio station, get the support, pick up your equipments, go to the street, talk to your audience and come up with something”, she advised.
The executive director expresses that COMNeTSS is committed to join hands together with journalists to do more on peace building in South Sudan.
NPA representative, Joyce Maker, says expresses her organization’s commitment to support media houses in up grading journalists to reach the global standard.
She discloses NPA’s continuous support to empower journalists in South Sudan to perform well in their profession.
The announcement of the three Peace Journalism winners is expected to take place on Tuesday.
