The Catholic Bishop of South Sudan after their two-day meeting on Wednesday appealed for humanitarian assistance to the war and flood affected areas in the country.
The bishops in their pastoral message entitled ‘A call to servant leadership in our nation”, said the situation of IDPs is deteriorating.
The message read out by Archbishop Stephen Ameyu Mulla said millions of people are suffering from hunger in camps due to floods and war in some parts of the country.
“We are saddened by the humanitarian situation in South Sudan as well as the flood. Millions people are suffering from hunger refugees and IDPs needs resources as they return home from some areas while elsewhere others are still being displace”, he said.
The bishops urge Caritas agencies and international communities to increase on their humanitarian support the needy people.
The Archbishop was delivering a pastoral message entitled ‘A call to servant leadership in our nation” to the media on Wednesday in Juba.
