Okay Africa Foundation with Support from Norwegian People’s Aid on Monday handed over the students’ support to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

Foundation representative Data Emmanuel Gordon, calls for needs to the guidelines when the students support fund bill is passed

He urges NPA to help the Ministry of Higher Education to avail the document for future review and development by students.

Minister of Higher Education, Gabriel Changson Chan says the support will address students’ welfare especially feeding in five public universities.

“What we want to achieve with this organization is that, we want to address students’ welfare .Here in the ministry, we have been facing difficulties of meeting the requirements among them is the issue of feeding. We are supposed to feed the students in the five public universities and that money has to come from the finance but it has not been possible because of financial short comings”, he discloses.

The minister says they are yet to present the bill to the economic cluster to check whether the requirements for revenue collections are adequately addressed.

“Now the document is ready for presentation, and actually we presented to the service cluster and it was passed, we are supposed to present it to economic cluster last week, Wednesday but they couldn’t meet. so, if we are called by the economic cluster we will present the same document ,thereafter, it will go to governance cluster”, Changson explains

The speakers made the remarks during the handover of the documents at the Ministry of Higher Education Science and Technology in Juba on Monday.
