Director encourages successful candidates to put business ideas in to action

Be vibrant in performing business to grow well to open more opportunities for the upcoming youth, Stephen Ihude Oduho, Director-General in the State Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry in Eastern Equatoria encourages successful beneficiaries of Whittaker Development and Peace Initiative business support project.

He spoke during the declaration of the results after six candidates presented their business ideas between 7th and 8th September 2021 in Torit, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Out of the six plans, three were successfully awarded with different amounts of money to be given in order to start with the business.

“Mr. Godfrey got seventy-two percent, it is a piggery business a new product in South Sudan, the second one we want to congratulate Alpha it is a poultry business with the average score of sixty-eight percent, thirdly we want to congratulate Donesia this is a groundnut business. The three businesses must succeed why so because to open another opportunity from the donors to give more youth, there are thousands of you who are in need of this opportunity, so please you are going to be the determinant factor for the future”, Ihude advises.

Whittaker Business Boot Camp Manager, Gama Hassan Rumeo, calls on the youth to create jobs by participating in useful activities to earn their living.

“We are trying to engage the youth in a very constructive activities, activities that will make them generate income and also be able to take care of themselves and that they will be able to create jobs so that we don’t have youth who will be redundant at the same time engage in conflict so we award them with money based on the one who come on the top. The first three, we are only having grant for three businesses, the first one will get three thousand USD, then the second one will get two thousand USD and the third one will get one thousand USD to start their business”, he explains.

The Whittaker Development and Peace Initiative Torit office in Eastern Equatoria to support three youth business plan projects.

The program is aimed to empower young people through business enterprises.
