The Parish Priest of St. Peter and Paul Cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Torit told believers that both the poor and the rich are all equal in the image of God.

Fr. Kamilo Afore advises believers not to pay more respect to the rich because of their being rich while living out the poor.

He quotes the bible saying that the poor are considered in the kingdom of God.

“When somebody well dressed you immediately welcome him and give him a good seat and in case a poor man was sitting there you will say may you leave this place or seat for the big man, We go after human being we honour human being, we worship human being and especially before the riches we are shaken St. James says we should not do that God had come for the poor that is why Isaiah proclaim the message of salvation to the poor and vengeance. James said we should have no partiality we should not be dividing people and favouritism should not be there among us, we should see the reality it is God that we proclaim and it is God who gives us all riches no one came with the riches from the womb of his mother no we are all created in the likeness in the mercy of God”, Fr Afore explains.

The priest says riches come from the Almighty God; advising every Christian to open up his or her eyes to see the reality of God, especially the miracle performed by Christ.

“He has done all things well, he even made the deaf hear and the mute to speak Jesus has come to open our ears to listen to the message of salvation, to loosen our tongue so as to proclaim his word of salvation .In opening our eyes that we see the reality, we shall see around us, God is with us, the kingdom of God is among you Jesus came especially to give the message of salvation to the lost sheep of Israelites hen he sent now his disciples everywhere. Not that he did not come for the pagan no he is for everybody Jesus Came for us all”, he emphasizes.

The catholic prelate was giving his homily to worshipers at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral.
