Police authorities in Magwi County of Eastern Equatoria State apprehended a 33 year old man, for shooting at prayers’ crusade, wounding a girl on her back with an arrow.

The culprit reported himself to the police station immediately after the incident on Friday late evening.

Speaking to CRN, second lieutenant Michael Koko says the suspect admitted that his aim was to shoot at the pastor, but the arrow caught his cousin sister.

He adds that the authorities are carrying out investigations.

“We are investigating him. The girl is still admitted in the hospital. He said he went to cultivate some sim-sim in the village and when he came home, he found his Uncle’s daughter and his sister and he said his sisters have been coming home late and he has been warning them not to move at night, but they don’t listen. So because of that, they brought church people to pray without my notice. So I went to drink alcohol to shoot at the pastor, but it caught my cousin sister. I didn’t intend to shoot her”.

According to Payam Head Chief, Ringo Filbert, the suspect earlier warned the mother not to organize the prayers.

“it happened in Kenya one, and the shooting is not all that bad, the lady is still taking some medication at the health center. The concern is, he was instructing his mother that I don’t need this short of evening prayers at his home, so this people didn’t comply with him and now when he came he found that Christians were gathered and shoot at the crowed.”

The lady who is a student at Torit Health Institute of Nursing is currently admitted in Obbo PHCC and her condition is improving.
