Director General of Media Authority Sapana Abuyi is calling upon media partners and supporters to improve the welfare of journalists in South Sudan.
He urges UJOSS to ensure journalists are treated fairly, provided gadgets, salaries and their rights in order to speed and promote support for media development in South Sudan.
Abuyi calls for trainings of media managers on how they should treat journalists in their houses especially the female journalists to be free of harassments.
“The media managers have to be taught on how to respect journalists, and especially when it comes to our sisters, the female journalists. Issues of harassment against them are issues that we need to address them. And this one, we need to do it collectively together.” He added.
The Director-General was speaking during the opening of two-day workshop organized by UJOSS to enhance journalists with media laws in Juba last week.
