Kapoeta North County Commissioner has reported that unknown people killed a woman and abducted her two children in the garden.
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel, Epone Emmanuel Lolimo says the incident took place in Kapoeta North County of Eastern Equatoria State on Sunday evening.
Lolimo adds that the woman was returning from the garden with her two children when the incident occured.
“Year we receive the report on Sunday about the abduction of children and the killing of their mother on Sunday around 3:45 on the 15 of this month, youth suspected to be from Murle attack the woman when she was coming from the garden in the evening at the process they shot her death and then they took her two children the information was received late. The following morning according to the confirmation the footmark has ended into greater Pibor administrative area, this is the first time after a quite a long time we were been living together without abduction and murder it has taken a while”.
Lolimo urges the population of Kapoeta North County to remain calm as the government works hard to return the abducted children.
“The incident almost caused panic to all the area but we have engaged them to remain calm and also, I am in contact with the state leadership the governor of the state also to communicate to his counterpart the area chief administrative area to do the follow up and ensure the recovery and return of these children. We want to avoid these issues of revenge killing it will not take us anywhere and this is what am doing right now”, said Lolimo.
On Friday last week, three children were also abducted at Iluhum residential area in Torit of Eastern Equatoria State.
