Forestry Director warms soldiers cutting down trees for negative action in Tonj

Soldiers should not react negatively against forest guards when they are not authorized to cut down trees for their personal usage, says James Akec Agang, Director of Forestry Sector in Tonj South County of Warrap State told people particularly.

He says some soldiers leave work and involve themselves in charcoals production without prior permit from concerned authorities, Don Bosco Radio reported.

The director points out that, soldiers last week, quarrelled with the forest guards who were trying to correct them in demolishing a huge fruitful tree.

He advises organized forces to seek consultancy from Forestry authorities before moving to forest to search for natural resources use up.

The director also said that not all the trees are allowed to be cut down and this is the reason people should come to the office for cognizance to reserve some rare trees.

The official called for respect of law to ensure sensible environmental preservation in the state and the entire country

Early this week forestry department in Tonj South County issued an order prohibiting illegal cutting down trees without clear documentation.

The speaker made his remarks to Don Bosco Radio on Thursday in Tonj following the order.
