South Sudan Health Professional Committee says it is laying its tools down on Monday next week, in solidarity with their colleagues who were killed earlier this week in Yirol.

Radio Bakhita quoted chairperson of the committee Anthony George in Juba, saying the strike will last for two days to demand for justice for their colleagues who have been murdered in the country.

The health professionals call on the government to provide security to the health workers operating in rural areas across the nation.

On Monday, a humanitarian convoy was attacked by armed men at Mapuordit-Aluak- Luak road in Yirol West; killing two South Sudanese staff working for CUAMM or Doctors with Africa.

Another South Sudanese doctor, Louis Edward Saleh was also murdered last month in cold blood in Bentiu Unity State.
This followed the murder of a nurse in April in Eastern Equatoria.
