Civil society organizations and citizens of Yei on Friday joined the globe in commemorating World Environmental Day ahead of the day.
YAMORA Executive Director Justoson Victor Yosa says activists are concerned about the environment and all negative effects, Radio Easter reported.
He asks the relevant authorities to allow prisoners to be brought out so that they can participate together to clean Yei town.
The activist asks all schools to give some pieces of land so that they can plant some trees in the different schools.
Yei Local Football Association representative says garbage is scattered in some parts of the town, making the environment not conducive for human lives.
He points out that the deforestation has destroyed ecosystem in Yei River County.
