The Director of Agriculture in Yei River County of Central Equatorial State is anticipating high production of food in the first cultivation season this year.
Speaking to Radio Easter, Emelia Dudu Kenyi comments that many people are committed to agricultural activities compared to the past Years.
She appreciates people of Yei for taking agriculture as their first priority to fight hunger.
The Director says there is enough rainfall that may lead to health growth of crops.
Dudu raises concerns of agricultural tools to help farmers.
She adds that the seeds and tools which were distributed to farmers by some organisations were provided too late when they had already planted theirs.
The Agriculture Director encourages farmers not to lose hope by the late distribution.
She urges them to use the seeds for the coming second season.
Dudu regrets insecurity in some parts of the county which she says is hindering farmers from accessing their big farms in the rural areas.
She calls for more support from the agriculture partners.
The speaker made the remarks to Radio Easter in an interview in her office in Yei.
