Lakes’ State Government to deal with civilians fighting forces

The Acting Governor of Lakes State has warned armed civilians in the area, for fighting organised forces.

On Monday, five police officers including two commissioner’s body guards were wounded by armed civilians, following a conflict between two communities in Maleng-Agok of Rumbek East.

Speaking during a peace dialogue between Rup of Amongpiny and Athoi community, Poth Madit warns that the state government will not compromise with any civilian fighting authorities.

He calls on the chief of the area to exercise their leadership and get rid of people getting involved in criminal activities.
Madit describes the recent shooting of police personnel and body guards in Rumbek East as “Unlawful”.
The Acting Governor says the forces have a great role to play to deal with armed civilians fighting them.

Madit cautions any armed person against fighting organized forces in the state.

He ordered for the release of any soldier put in prison in connection to the fighting that occurred on Monday.
