Chief calls for more emphasis on child safety in Torit

The Area Chief of Morwari is appealing to the community members to put more focus on the safety of children, monitoring them and ensure that they are enrolled in schools.
Joseph Tiberio lonuha encourages children who drop out of school during the covid-19 pandemic, to continue with education.


“We started the issue of child protection some time back we are looking at ways of how to handle children, we can handle children in a way that we have to send children to school, ensure that children are safe and make sure they don’t loiter anyhow. We need children of these days to study. At this time of corona, many children have dropped out of school. Many are pregnant, but even after birth, they should return to school”.

Child Protection Assistant Program Manager, Omal Augustine, says bringing up a child, starts from home to community level.


“We need to educate on the teachings of children protection because we the mothers and fathers in our homesteads have got a big responsibility on learning of children at home training of a child starts from home and the second training is got when the child goes to school or from the community, children need to be taught at that level so that when the child reaches the stage of being a responsible person when he has undergone different stages of reformation.”
