Eastern Equatoria State Deputy Governor has reiterated her call for churches to continue embracing peace in the State and beyond.

Mary Lodira Alfonse says the church will be remembered for its endless efforts to bring peace to the State.

“Your involvement in all peace negotiations is very vital. The government cannot forget you, let us work together, the people of Eastern Equatoria are hardworking people, not lazy people, not asking for food from international communities. A person who asks for food is a person who has no land. So as a church let’s work together, we don’t want to hear conflicts in our state, only politicians can fight but the only place to hide is the church”.

On the other hand, Archbishop of the Episcopal Church of Sudan in Eastern Equatoria Integral Province, Grace Cathedral Ogeno Charles Opoka, appeals to the people of the State and the country at large to refrain from issues that divide them.

“I know this time is the time for change  the church is now going for transitional period, it has happened to us as Episcopal of South Sudan I believe today it has entered into this church, I want just to advice you brothers and sisters what you do, it should not divide you, I have just elected last month to become the arc-Bishop of Eastern Equatoria it was not simple  brothers and sisters I requesting you to unit yourselves so that you bring a good leader if you bring a good leader God will be with you but if you fail then you will be bring problem but I know all readers comes from God that even if its comes from God there is a division let that division be only simple division”.
