A Sheik in Torit is urging citizens to emulate the life of Muslims who served the
people without discrimination.
Sheikh Suleiman Mohammed Hammed notes that maintaining peace is not only the
government’s duty, but also for all people, radio Emmanuel reported.

“This religion is one we don’t have that this religion is from Somali nor
Khartoum nor Kapoeta, we are all Muslims from whichever place we are all Muslims
we don’t have tribalism and because of this citizens from Torit should live a life like
that of Muslims which does not have tribalism we are all one body, peace is not only
responsibility of the president nor governor nor honourables, but for all of us, we
should stand together with the government so that peace is achieved. God says that
we should not do bad things, but go on the right path, what I can say is that we
people should live in harmony these conflicts happening at the outskirts cannot help
us to move ahead”, he pleaded.

Musa Omer Mohamed Ghaduri, Acting Chairman of South Islamic Council in Eastern
Equatoria State, told persons involved in attacks especially along the borders of Torit
to seize such bad acts and turn to religion that will lead to a holy life.

“We speak to our brothers at the outskirts, countryside of Torit those people who are
always shooting people, shooting innocent people, we have also heard that side of Lopa someone killed the brother. These are things are not good, let us leave aside the old life a live a good life, this is all because of
alcoholism let us quit alcoholism, let us resort to religion because religion will lead
you through the right path, it cannot lead you into killing or whatever religion moulds
someone without any problem”, he advised.
