Four people were killed and two others injured in an ambush on the governor’s
convoy by unknown attackers on Thursday along Juba –Yei road, Information
Minister of Central Equatoria State confirmed.
Paulino Lukudu Obede told the media on Friday that the targeted attack aimed at
harming Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, but he was not in the convoy during the
attack, Radio Bakhita reported.
The minister stressed that investigation is still ongoing to identify the assailants.
Lukudu conveyed state government’s condolence to the bereaved families.
The information minister explains that the weapons used by the attackers were very
poisonous.
The Central Equatoria state government announced three-day ban to travellers on
Juba-Yei road.
