President Salva Kiir Mayardit issued a republican decree on 10 May 2021, reconstituting the Transitional National Legislative Assembly or TNLA.
Announced on South Sudan’s Broadcasting Cooperation or SSBC in Juba, the order includes members of the SPLM party; the Democratic Change or DC party, the National Agenda, SPLM-IO, the South Sudan Opposition Alliance or SSOA, the Other Opposition Parties or OPP, and the former detainees or FDs.
The reconstitution comes in accordance with the provisions of the revitalized peace agreement to include opposition parties that are signatories to the 2018 peace deal.
