South Sudan National Revenue Authority or NRA announced that they have collected five billion South Sudanese Pounds and over eight million United States dollars this year as revenue.
Commissioner General Dr Patrick Mugoya explains that the US dollars’ revenue collection in the month of April alone is 8.3 million.
He adds this years’ revenue collection has doubled the previous year’s reflecting a great improve on the non-oil revenue.
The head of the NRA promised to improve salaries of his staff as a motivation and a token of appreciation for work well done.
This is the first time the revenue office publicly announced collections since the appointment of Patrick K Mugoya as new commissioner general in October 2020.
